STEVE A. TIMM
Golf Course designer Steve Timm, Born November 9, 1953 in Mason City, Iowa and raised in Las Vegas Nevada. Steve has more than 35 years of Professional Golf Course Design, Planning, Development, Management , and teaching experience. Steve began his professional golf career in 1972 and for the next 10 years established himself as a top Golf Club Professional and teacher at three major golf clubs: Paradise Valley Country Club (Private/Resort), Desert Inn Hotel and Country Club (Resort) and The Las Vegas Country Club (Private). During his tenure at these three world-class facilities Steve learned and perfected the knowledge of all facets of operations and teaching golf. In 1983 Steve was offered a position as a Golf Professional at the famed Riviera Country Club (Pacific Palisades, California). He played an integral role in the 1983 PGA Championship held at Riviera that year. After his first year at Riviera, Steve was promoted to Director of Golf Operations and was given the responsibility of running all aspects of operations at Riviera along with maintaining a large staff. He also supervised 3 successful Los Angeles Opens for Riviera. In 1986 Steve went into the Golf Club Sales Business as sales representative for the Dave Pelz Golf Club Company for Southern California. Steve worked for Dave Pelz and Barney Adams, CEO of The Dave Pelz Company (Now Adams Golf), for 1 year until the company closed its doors. Steve learned much about club sales and club fitting business while with the company. Steve then joined Cosmo World Corporation (Multi-National Golf Course Development Company) as Vice President of Golf Course Development. His responsibilities included Land and golf company acquisition; Environmental approvals; Community relations related to new development, Management Operations consulting, Coordination of Architects, Engineers and Professional consultants, Preparation of Federal 404 permits, Environmental Impact Reports and related permit actions for new golf course development projects. His Management and acquisitions consulting for Cosmo World included the following golf facilities: Pebble Beach Resorts (Pebble Beach, Ca.), Angeles National Golf Club (Los Angeles), Paris International Country Club (Paris, France), Gut Altentann (Salzburg, Austria), TPC at Kaupulehu (Kona, Hawaii) and Silver Canyon (Las Vegas, Nevada). Steve also was part of the team at Cosmo World that acquired The Ben Hogan Company for Cosmo World, culminating in the partnership with the PGA Tour and The Ben Hogan Company to start the Ben Hogan Tour now the Nationwide Tour. In 1993, Steve created Timm Golf Services (TGS), TGS is a Golf Course Design, Development and Management services company, now “Steve Timm Design”. In addition Steve is a Golf Course Design Associate with Cupp Design Inc. Steve designed The Cascades in Los Angeles, California (Bob Cupp design Consultant). Steve also worked on Tierra Rejada Golf Club in Moorpark, California with Bob Cupp. Steve is currently working on a new 36-hole course with Bob Cupp near Boise, Idaho called Black Canyon Ranch, renovating Santa Barbara Golf Club in Santa Barbara, both with Bob Cupp . Steve is also redesigning The Cascades in Los Angeles, Sinaloa Golf Course for The Simi Valley Parks and Recreation in Simi Valley, California and Balboa Golf Course for the City of Los Angeles. Starting in 2010 Steve and Bob Cupp are entering the China market  starting with a 36 hole project in Kunming, China and an 18 hole project on Hainan Island, China GOLF PROJECTS STEVE A.
